Ah, spring, thank goodness you are here!
Time for fresh linens, flowers, green grass and the feel of sunshine bringing us back to life after the dreariness of winter.
As the season changes we have an opportunity to refresh ourselves, our homes, our yards and even our wine cabinets. This is the perfect time to take stock and breathe new life into your days. Here are five impactful ways you can clear the wintertime blues and dive into spring!

Spring Cleaning
With the sun suddenly shining out again, those dusty places around your house seem to stand out more. Baseboards, window seals, blinds, corners that haven’t seen light in months – all are visible once more and they need a spring cleaning!
Keep it going by wiping out cupboards and drawers, and also cleaning the fridge, oven and other appliances.
Devote a full day to taking on each room, top to bottom, tools in hand while listening to music, an audiobook or podcast.
Update Your Wardrobe
Now is a great time to shop for springy, colorful wardrobe attire (I am definitely ready for some floral prints). New clothes are always fun, so give your closets a thorough search! What doesn’t fit anymore? What did you wear so much you never want to see again? Look for outdated pieces or stuff you haven’t worn in ages. And when you do decide to say good-bye to certain items, consider donating them.
Conduct a Wine Inventory
Did you know that most wine should be consumed right away?
I think we can all agree that’s usually not a problem!
However, if you are holding onto treasured bottles you received as gifts, bought on trips or are saving for a special occasion, now is the time to look through and see what you should drink this year.
Check this list from Wine Folly to see if you’re hoarding wines to you should be enjoying!
Then replenish your wine rack by picking up the latest vintages being released this time of year.
Yard Cleanup
I have a couple of friends who absolutely love gardening. They’re my go-to gals for all things planting and maintaining when it comes to my yard.
You see, yardwork is not an intuitive process for me. I never think to myself, “I should go weed,” or “oh, hey, it’s spring, I should probably make sure my flower beds are ready for the season.”
Luckily I do have said friends to remind me and remind me they did, which led to me hopping on Pinterest to hunt for tips and checklists.
I found this article about spring chores to be particularly helpful.
Essentially your tasks will be prune, rake and repeat.
Display Fresh Flowers
Finally, is there anything more beautiful or symbolic than fresh flowers?
Bring the blooms of the season into your home! If you don’t have flowering plants yet, buy a bunch at your local farmer’s market, grocery store or garden center, then place them throughout your house to help showcase its clean new appearance.
Longer, sunnier days lay ahead my friends!
Putting into practice these five springtime steps will have you feeling renewed, rejuvenated and oh, so joyful!
What are you waiting for? Time to tackle spring like a boss!
